Affogato Fragrance Oil is built around a minimalist gourmand structure where vanillin, ethyl vanillin, maltol, and piperonal recreate the aroma of vanilla gelato slowly melting beneath a freshly poured espresso. The absence of fresh top-note materials gives the fragrance remarkable richness and cohesion, allowing the creamy coffee-dessert character to remain present from opening to drydown. The result is a smooth coffee gourmand scent with creamy vanilla depth, caramelized sweetness, and an authentic affogato character.

Discoloration potential: Heavy

Affogato Fragrance Oil contains multiple high-dose aldehydes and sweeteners like vanillin and maltol, which are known to oxidize and produce strong brown/amber discoloration.

  • Expect deep amber or even brown discoloration over time, especially in soaps and candles.
  • Best suited for brown-toned products, bakery aesthetics, or applications where darkening enhances the theme.
  • Avoid in white or clear bases unless discoloration is part of the design.

Application Compatibility

This fragrance is oil-soluble and designed for use in oil-based and alcohol-based formulations. It does not mix directly with water-based systems without the use of an appropriate solubilizer.

Store in a cool, dark, and airtight environment to preserve stability and minimize oxidation over time.

Usage & Performance

Fragrance performance varies depending on the base, formulation, and production conditions. Cold throw, hot throw, diffusion strength, and longevity are influenced by the materials used and the manufacturing process.

Customers who need more than 5kgs per scent, can contact us to arrange a proforma invoice. Bulk orders are produced in multipliers of 5 (5kg, 10kg, 15kg, etc.) and lead times vary depending on fragrance and time of the year, usually within the range of 3 to 8 weeks.

    For everyone who wants a typical vanilla scent without the generic / artificial vanilla scent, this is the right one for you. The coffee gives a nice hint to the overall scent, but isn’t too strong. If you prefer a heavy coffee throw, you should use others like Roast Coffee. But my customers liked this one really much

How can I use this fragrance oil and at what concentration?

Recommended usage depends on the intended application. Typical formulation ranges and the applicable IFRA maximum are shown in the Product Suitability Guide above. The IFRA maximum is a regulatory limit and should not be interpreted as the recommended formulation level. We recommend working within the normal usage range for your product type and testing before production.

Does this fragrance oil contain regulated substances?

Fragrance compositions may contain regulated fragrance allergens and, in some cases, other substances subject to concentration limits under EU legislation. Where applicable, these are disclosed in the product documentation and taken into account in the classification of the fragrance oil. The individual classification of an ingredient does not automatically mean that the fragrance oil itself carries the same classification.

Is this fragrance oil phthalate-free and paraben-free?

Yes. Our fragrance oils are formulated without added phthalates or parabens. Detailed compositional and hazard information for each fragrance is provided through its accompanying technical documentation.

Can I apply this fragrance oil directly to my skin?

No. Fragrance oils are concentrated raw materials intended for formulation into finished products. They must be appropriately diluted and used within the applicable IFRA limits for the intended application.

Should I test the fragrance in my own formulation?

Yes. Performance can vary depending on the base, materials, fragrance concentration and manufacturing process. We recommend testing every fragrance in a small, production-representative batch before scaling up.
