Please note
This is not a perfume. It is a highly concentrated fragrance oil designed for crafting end products such as candles, diffusers, perfumes, soaps, and other personal care items. Do not apply directly to the skin. All our fragrance oils are measured in grams, not milliliters. Bottle fill levels may vary due to differences in oil density, which affects volume.
This material is supplied as a raw ingredient. Full compositional and allergen information is provided in the SDS and Allergen Declaration documents found in the “Related Documents” tab. Compliance of the final product remains the responsibility of the manufacturer.
Behavioral Profile
- Diffusion: Expansive, dense and atmospheric
- Texture: Dry-roasted with smoky woody warmth
- Opening Impression: Sharp roasted spice and bitter coffee realism
- Structure: Strong gourmand-woody core with dark resinous depth
- Character: Intense, sophisticated, earthy and highly addictive
Coffee Roast Fragrance Oil is a dark gourmand-woody composition structured around roasted caramelic ketones, smoky anisic materials, and dense woody fixatives. The fragrance focuses heavily on realism, recreating the aroma of dry roasted coffee beans with subtle cocoa bitterness and earthy woody undertones rather than sugary café sweetness. Spiced top notes sharpen the opening and enhance the roasted effect, while orris and amber materials soften the harsher bitter facets into a smoother atmospheric drydown. The result is an intense and highly immersive coffee fragrance with excellent depth, realism, and ambient projection.

Discoloration Potential: Moderate
Despite a stable base, the inclusion of multiple discoloration-prone aromatics with strong oxidative tendencies in Coffee Roast Fragrance Oil makes darkening over time likely.
- Slow deepening from yellow to amber or brown is expected, particularly under heat, light, or air exposure.
- Best used in dark brown candles, soaps, or cozy-toned packaging where color changes are either hidden or enhance the theme.
- Store in cool, dark, airtight conditions to slow down visible oxidation and preserve the original tone longer.
Application Compatibility
This fragrance is oil-soluble and designed for use in oil-based and alcohol-based formulations. It does not mix directly with water-based systems without the use of an appropriate solubilizer.
Storage
Store in a cool, dark, and airtight environment to preserve stability and minimize oxidation over time.
Usage & Performance
Fragrance performance varies depending on the base, formulation, and production conditions. Cold throw, hot throw, diffusion strength, and longevity are influenced by the materials used and the manufacturing process.
A typical development process involves:
- Initial scent evaluation (10g sample)
- Small batch testing (e.g. 50g scale)
- Full-scale production once performance is validated
Testing under your specific conditions is standard practice in product development. Evaluation at each stage is required prior to scaling.
Recommended usage guidelines
- Candles: 7%-12%
- Reed diffusers: 15%-25%
- Personal perfumes: 10%-15%
- Soaps: 1%-3%
These ranges reflect typical formulation practices and are provided for general guidance only. They do not represent maximum permitted levels.

Great spicy coffee scent! It’s really strong in candles!
lennnier –
a great coffee smell, it smells absolutely like roasted coffee beans and is a perfect addition with the right components. And I even got an idea that a similar smell but without the “roast”, so like the “soft coffee” or “milk coffee” fragrance would be a great addition to the collection

Strong aroma of coffee, I can also smell nuts from it, good to work with it.

I don’t like coffee, but this scent is amazing! – that’s what many of my customers say when they smell our candle. The scent is really strong and as someone wrote here, it really smells like mocha.
Logan Cantillon (verified owner) –
In bottle it smelled like genuine roast coffee with a heavy chocolate note. Once the scent started to permeate it lost that genuine quality and started to smell more like a very artificial coffee scented perfume.
Used at 4% in CP soap and caused significant acceleration, not suitable for swirls or other intricate designs.

A very, very good smell, when pouring candles with it, the whole house is filled with fresh coffee, it’s a pleasure to work
