Made-to-order diffuser oil premixes
Cold-air diffuser systems often require a more practical liquid format than pure fragrance oil. While many fragrance oils can technically be evaluated in electric diffuser systems, using them neat may increase the risk of clogging, strong CLP labelling, and compatibility issues depending on the device. For B2B customers, Perfumedom can prepare selected fragrance oils as a 50% fragrance oil / 50% IPM premix, made to order for private-label diffuser applications.
What We Offer as a Diffuser Oil Supplier
Our cold-air diffuser premix service is designed for companies that want a more practical material for electric diffuser use, without handling the dilution process themselves.
Each premix is prepared as 50% fragrance oil and 50% IPM
- Minimum order quantity: 1kg per fragrance
- Price: same as our standard 1kg fragrance oil pricing
- Preparation: made to order
- Available exclusively to EU VAT-registered businesses
Order formats:
- 1kg to 4kg supplied in 1kg containers
- Bulk orders supplied in increments of 5kg (5kg, 10kg, 15kg, 20kg, etc.)
Orders above 5kg per fragrance are considered bulk and receive a 10% discount. Bulk orders are handled through a separate production schedule and typically have a lead time of 3–8 weeks.
All premix orders, whether 1kg or bulk quantities, are processed manually by email and supplied against a proforma invoice payable by bank transfer. Terms and Conditions apply.
This service is intended for professional customers, diffuser brands, scent marketing companies, home fragrance businesses, hotels, spas, and private-label projects.
Why Use a Premix?
Using fragrance oil neat in a cold-air diffuser may not always be practical. Depending on the fragrance and the diffuser system, pure fragrance oil may be too concentrated, too heavy, or too demanding from a labelling perspective.
Based on our own evaluations in several cold-air diffuser systems, a 50% fragrance oil / 50% IPM ratio has proven to be a practical and widely used industry starting point. In many cases, this ratio helps reduce the risk of clogging, provides strong scent diffusion without becoming overwhelming, maintains the character and performance of the fragrance, and can reduce the number or severity of CLP classifications compared to using the fragrance oil neat.
Please note that this does not guarantee compatibility with every device. Cold-air diffuser systems vary significantly in needle size, pump strength, viscosity tolerance, tubing, seals, internal materials, and operating conditions.
Device Testing & Compatibility
Perfumedom has evaluated the 50/50 premix concept in a limited number of diffuser systems. However, we do not test every fragrance in every cold-air diffuser device, and we cannot confirm compatibility with specific diffuser brands or models.
Compatibility testing must always be carried out by the customer using their own device before any commercial use.
We do not accept customer devices for testing, evaluation, or compatibility checks. Customers who wish to evaluate a fragrance before ordering a premix may first purchase a 10g tester bottle and perform their own device trials.
Regulatory Responsibility
The premix does not remove the customer’s responsibility for final product compliance. The company placing the finished product on the market is responsible for:
- CLP labelling
- UFI generation
- PCN submission, where required
- Final packaging compliance
- Device compatibility testing
- Safe market placement
For CLP purposes, the fragrance oil concentration should be assessed at 50%. Our CLP Generator can be used as a support tool, but final responsibility remains with the company placing the product on the market.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use pure fragrance oil in a cold-air diffuser?
Many fragrance oils can technically be evaluated in cold-air diffuser systems, but using them neat may increase the risk of clogging, strong CLP labelling, and compatibility issues. Testing is always required.
Have you tested your oils in cold-air diffusers?
We have evaluated the 50% fragrance oil / 50% IPM concept in several diffuser systems and found it to be a practical starting point. However, we do not test every fragrance in every diffuser model, so customers must always perform their own compatibility testing.
Can you confirm if your oils work with my diffuser brand?
No. We cannot confirm compatibility with specific diffuser brands or models. Needle size, pump strength, internal materials, tubing, and viscosity tolerance differ from one device to another.
Can I ship my diffuser to you for testing?
No. We do not accept customer devices for testing or evaluation. Customers may purchase a 10g tester bottle and perform their own compatibility trials before ordering larger quantities or premixes.
Why do you use IPM?
IPM is commonly used as a carrier material and can help create a more practical liquid format for diffuser applications. In many cases, a 50/50 fragrance oil and IPM blend offers a good balance between diffusion performance, viscosity, and regulatory practicality. The final mixture must still be assessed correctly for compliance purposes.
Is the premix ready to bottle and sell?
The premix is prepared as a B2B material for private-label evaluation and further commercial use. However, the customer remains responsible for device testing, final CLP labelling, UFI generation, PCN submission, packaging compliance, and lawful market placement.
Can you fill the premix into my branded bottles?
No. Perfumedom does not provide pre-bottling, filling, or packaging services in customer-branded bottles or retail packaging. All premixes are supplied in our own standard containers. Customers are responsible for their own bottling, packaging, labelling, and market placement activities.
What is the minimum order quantity?
The minimum order quantity is 1kg per fragrance. Orders from 1kg to 4kg are supplied in 1kg containers. Larger quantities are supplied in increments of 5kg, such as 5kg, 10kg, 15kg, and above.
Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes. Orders above 5kg per fragrance receive a 10% discount. Bulk orders are produced separately and typically have a lead time of 3–8 weeks.
Why the price is the same as your standard range?
The premix is priced at the same level as our standard 1kg fragrance oil pricing. This is a made-to-order B2B preparation that includes the carrier, weighing, mixing, handling, and preparation work.
How do I place an order?
All premix orders are handled by email. Once availability is confirmed, we issue a proforma invoice for payment by bank transfer before production begins.
Who can purchase this service?
This service is available exclusively to EU VAT-registered businesses. Premix availability is confirmed upon request. Please contact us with the fragrance you are interested in, and we will advise on availability.
