Discoloration potential: Heavy
Rich in aldehydes, terpenes, and vanillin-type compounds, Lemon Meringue Pie Fragrance Oil has a strong tendency to darken over time. Multiple synergistic yellowing agents are present.
- Discoloration from pale yellow to amber or brown is expected, especially in soaps, wax, and clear bases.
- Ideal for citrus-dessert-themed products where yellow/golden hues are visually acceptable.
- Not suitable for white or pastel bases unless discoloration is intended or masked.
Application Compatibility
This fragrance is oil-soluble and designed for use in oil-based and alcohol-based formulations. It does not mix directly with water-based systems without the use of an appropriate solubilizer.
Storage
Store sealed, away from heat and light — but darkening is likely due to the formula’s natural instability.
