Please note

This is not a perfume. It is a highly concentrated fragrance oil designed for crafting end products such as candles, diffusers, perfumes, soaps, and other personal care items. Do not apply directly to the skin. All our fragrance oils are measured in grams, not milliliters. Bottle fill levels may vary due to differences in oil density, which affects volume.

This material is supplied as a raw ingredient. Full compositional and allergen information is provided in the SDS and Allergen Declaration documents found in the “Related Documents” tab. Compliance of the final product remains the responsibility of the manufacturer.

Packaging note: 10g testers are supplied in PET bottles for affordable evaluation and are not intended for long-term archival storage. Production sizes from 50g upwards are supplied in premium aluminium bottles for improved long-term protection. Read more

Behavioral Profile

  • Diffusion: Medium–high, warm and enveloping
  • Texture: Smoky-creamy with dry woody softness
  • Opening Impression: Spiced aromatic freshness over immediate roasted warmth
  • Structure: Strong woody-musky backbone with gourmand amber depth
  • Character: Cozy, luxurious, atmospheric and distinctly wintery

Roasted Chestnut and Vanilla Fragrance Oil is a woody-gourmand winter composition structured around creamy amberwoods, soft vanillin materials, and warm musky woods. Rather than presenting chestnut in a sugary confectionery style, the fragrance emphasizes roasted warmth, dry woods, and fireplace-like comfort through the interaction of smoky cedar ketones, cashmere musks, and balsamic sweetness. Subtle aromatic freshness in the opening prevents the blend from becoming overly dense, while vanilla and amber materials create a rich, embracing drydown. The result is a sophisticated winter gourmand with strong atmospheric character and excellent ambient warmth.

IFRA Maximum Usage Levels

  • Candles: 100%
  • Diffusers: 20.50%
  • Perfumes: 38.90%
  • Soaps: 12.50%

For full category-specific limits, refer to the Roasted Chestnut and Vanilla Fragrance Oil IFRA certificate available in the “Related Documents” tab.

Discoloration Potential: Heavy

Despite a stable base, the high concentration of vanillin-type materials and multiple discoloration-prone aromatics in Roasted Chestnut and Vanilla fragrance oil ensures progressive and visible browning.

  • Yellowing and dark amber-browning are highly likely, even under good storage conditions.
  • Best used in brown or caramel-toned products like deep candles or darker soaps to match the aging tone.
  • Store in opaque, tightly sealed containers at 10–30 °C to delay visual degradation.

Application Compatibility

This fragrance is oil-soluble and designed for use in oil-based and alcohol-based formulations. It does not mix directly with water-based systems without the use of an appropriate solubilizer.

Storage

Store in a cool, dark, and airtight environment to preserve stability and minimize oxidation over time.

Usage & Performance

Fragrance performance varies depending on the base, formulation, and production conditions. Cold throw, hot throw, diffusion strength, and longevity are influenced by the materials used and the manufacturing process.

A typical development process involves:

  • Initial scent evaluation (10g sample)
  • Small batch testing (e.g. 50g scale)
  • Full-scale production once performance is validated

Testing under your specific conditions is standard practice in product development. Evaluation at each stage is required prior to scaling.

Recommended usage guidelines

  • Candles: 7%-12%
  • Reed diffusers: 15%-25%
  • Personal perfumes: 10%-15%
  • Soaps: 1%-3%

These ranges reflect typical formulation practices and are provided for general guidance only. They do not represent maximum permitted levels.

  7. Yuen Man Cheung (verified owner)

I love it personally, but some of my clients have said that it smelt off – think it’s because of the woody note (burnt scent). I pair it with another scent and they go well together as a set. Male customers tend to like this a little more.

This one is AMAZING! I actualy think it smells like a toasted marshmallow

I am not a big fan of this scent, but it so nicely sweet and nutty and wintery combine. I prefer to combine it with caramel and extra vanilla scent for new flavor for my candles. Really recommended.

Product Guidance & FAQs

How can I use this fragrance oil and at what concentration?

Recommended usage depends on the intended application. Typical formulation ranges and the applicable IFRA maximum are shown in the Product Suitability Guide above. The IFRA maximum is a regulatory limit and should not be interpreted as the recommended formulation level. We recommend working within the normal usage range for your product type and testing before production.

Does this fragrance oil contain regulated substances?

Fragrance compositions may contain regulated fragrance allergens and, in some cases, other substances subject to concentration limits under EU legislation. Where applicable, these are disclosed in the product documentation and taken into account in the classification of the fragrance oil. The individual classification of an ingredient does not automatically mean that the fragrance oil itself carries the same classification.

Is this fragrance oil phthalate-free and paraben-free?

Yes. Our fragrance oils are formulated without added phthalates or parabens. Detailed compositional and hazard information for each fragrance is provided through its accompanying technical documentation.

Can I apply this fragrance oil directly to my skin?

No. Fragrance oils are concentrated raw materials intended for formulation into finished products. They must be appropriately diluted and used within the applicable IFRA limits for the intended application.

Should I test the fragrance in my own formulation?

Yes. Performance can vary depending on the base, materials, fragrance concentration and manufacturing process. We recommend testing every fragrance in a small, production-representative batch before scaling up.
