Please note
This is a pure, undiluted essential oil designed for crafting end products such as candles, diffusers, soaps, bath products, and other personal care items. Essential oils are highly concentrated and should not be applied directly to the skin without proper dilution in a carrier oil. All our essential oils are measured in grams, not milliliters. Bottle fill levels may vary due to differences in oil density, which affects volume.
For specific usage limits, please refer to the Wild Mint Essential Oil IFRA guidelines or consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) included in the “Related Documents” tab. Compliance of the final product remains the responsibility of the manufacturer.

Olfactive Profile
- Note classification: Top to middle note
- Scent family: Minty / Herbal / Fresh / Cooling
Wild Mint Essential Oil has a crisp, cooling, and strongly aromatic profile with fresh mint leaf, herbal, camphoraceous, and slightly sweet nuances. It feels cooler and sharper than spearmint, more herbal than peppermint candy-style notes, and fresher than many soft green oils. Its character is clean, penetrating, and instantly refreshing, making it especially useful in spa, wellness, herbal, fresh-air, cooling, and functional freshness compositions.
The opening is bright, minty, and cooling, while the drydown becomes softer, greener, and more herbal. Compared to citrus top notes, wild mint brings a stronger cooling sensation and a more aromatic freshness, making it valuable when a formula needs clarity, energy, and a clean botanical edge.

Formulation & Creative Uses
Wild Mint Essential Oil works as a cooling herbal top-to-middle note. It adds freshness, clarity, lift, and a clean minty impact to a formula, helping dense, sweet, woody, citrus, herbal, or resinous compositions feel more open and energizing. It is especially useful when a blend needs a sharp refreshing effect, a spa-like cooling touch, or a functional clean botanical character.
Common applications
- Diffusers: Useful for cool, fresh, energizing, spa-like, herbal, clean-air, and focus-oriented blends, always within IFRA limits.
- Candles & wax melts: Adds crisp minty freshness, especially in spa, eucalyptus-mint, clean home, herbal, winter freshness, and cooling aromatic compositions.
- Soaps: Brings a fresh mint-herbal character, with testing required for scent retention and process stability.
- Bath & body products: Suitable when used within IFRA limits and proper dilution guidelines.
- Perfumery: Useful in aromatic accords, herbal colognes, fresh fougere structures, clean musks, green mint blends, cooling citrus compositions, and functional freshness effects.
Creative directions
Use Wild Mint Essential Oil when a formula needs coolness, clarity, and an instantly refreshing lift. It works especially well in blends that feel too warm, sweet, heavy, resinous, dull, or enclosed, helping the composition become cleaner, brighter, and more breathable.
For spa and wellness blends, combine wild mint with eucalyptus, lavender, rosemary, tea tree, pine, or cedarwood to create a crisp, refreshing atmosphere. For citrus-mint directions, use it with lemon, lime, bergamot, grapefruit, or orange to build a bright and energizing opening. For clean home fragrance and aromatic blends, pair it with basil, clary sage, spearmint, soft woods, or light musks to balance its sharp cooling effect with smoother structure.
Wild mint is also useful in focus blends, herbal tea accords, clean linen directions, eucalyptus-mint formulas, winter freshness themes, and bright botanical compositions. Because it is strong, cooling, and highly recognisable, it can dominate a formula if overdosed. It performs best when balanced with citrus oils, soft herbs, woods, musks, or gentle floral materials that round out its intense minty freshness.
Storage & Natural Variations
Wild Mint Essential Oil is classified as harmful if swallowed, irritating to the skin, irritating to the eyes, sensitising, hazardous if swallowed and enters the airways, and toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Always follow the IFRA guidance and SDS for the intended product category. The final safety assessment, dilution level, labeling, and regulatory compliance remain the responsibility of the manufacturer.
Essential oils are natural aromatic materials, and slight variations in scent, colour, density, and appearance may occur from batch to batch. These differences are normal and can be influenced by harvest conditions, climate, origin, plant material, and natural compositional variation.
Scent perception may also vary depending on individual sensitivity, dilution level, formulation base, and application method. Essential oils may not smell exactly the same in the bottle as they do in a finished product. We strongly recommend testing a 10g bottle before committing to larger quantities, especially for commercial production.
To preserve quality, store tightly sealed in the original container, away from heat, light, air, and moisture. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place and avoid release into drains, surface water, or the environment.
