Starting off with what it looks like a dupe of an English brand best seller. Yeah, but no, but lets say that Sea Salt and Sage is ahem… “inspired” a lot by it particularly in the top and middle notes where you can whiff off a superbly crafted chypre of lime flower and bergamot. The heart is not that sagy-sage green, but retains that fougere greeness to marginaly pass as “herbaceous” minus the mintyness (did that make sense?).

A typical chypre must have labdanum but here’s the twist. The base is ambery (labdanum/styrax/vanilla) and mossy bringing two major perfuming accords (chypre and amber) into unison. This provides the amazing breezy swoosh to the composition (with the help of seaweed notes in the middle) while at the same time retaining the ohlala smoothness of amber.
