Please note
This is not a perfume. It is a highly concentrated fragrance oil designed for crafting end products such as candles, diffusers, perfumes, soaps, and other personal care items. Do not apply directly to the skin. All our fragrance oils are measured in grams, not milliliters. Bottle fill levels may vary due to differences in oil density, which affects volume.
This material is supplied as a raw ingredient. Full compositional and allergen information is provided in the SDS and Allergen Declaration documents found in the “Related Documents” tab. Compliance of the final product remains the responsibility of the manufacturer.
Behavioral Profile
- Diffusion: Medium–high, smooth and enveloping
- Texture: Velvety, creamy-spicy with soft leathery warmth
- Opening Impression: Bright citrus-spice sparkle over immediate dark sweetness
- Structure: Strongly base-driven with a diffusive floral core
- Character: Seductive, elegant, and modern with a luxurious cosmetic drydown
Black Vanilla Fragrance Oil is a creamy oriental floral composition structured around silky ester carriers, amberwoods, and soft vanillic balsams. The fragrance avoids a sugary gourmand direction and instead focuses on texture, warmth, and sensual diffusion. Floral materials create a smooth orchid-like body, while musks and amber ketones provide a velvety “black fabric” sensation throughout the drydown. Spicy nuances remain polished and restrained, adding depth without disrupting the softness of the composition. The result is a dark, elegant vanilla fragrance with strong cosmetic appeal and excellent persistence.

Discoloration Potential: Moderate
Black Vanilla fragrance oil’s formula includes oxidation-prone aldehydes (e.g. isovanillin) and several fixatives with known discoloration tendencies, especially in reactive bases like soap.
- You may observe a warm beige to amber tint over time, particularly in cold process soap and pale candles.
- Works best in warm-toned product designs where soft darkening won’t clash.
- Less ideal for crystal-clear or bright white formulations unless slight discoloration is acceptable.
- Store away from heat and light to reduce oxidative reactions and slow color change.
Application Compatibility
This fragrance is oil-soluble and designed for use in oil-based and alcohol-based formulations. It does not mix directly with water-based systems without the use of an appropriate solubilizer.
Storage
Store in a cool, dark, and airtight environment to preserve stability and minimize oxidation over time.
Usage & Performance
Fragrance performance varies depending on the base, formulation, and production conditions. Cold throw, hot throw, diffusion strength, and longevity are influenced by the materials used and the manufacturing process.
A typical development process involves:
- Initial scent evaluation (10g sample)
- Small batch testing (e.g. 50g scale)
- Full-scale production once performance is validated
Testing under your specific conditions is standard practice in product development. Evaluation at each stage is required prior to scaling.
Recommended usage guidelines
- Candles: 7%-12%
- Reed diffusers: 15%-25%
- Personal perfumes: 10%-15%
- Soaps: 1%-3%

That was exactly what I was looking for my candles! Strong and dark vanilla but not sweet at all. Love the orchid undertone. 6 out of 5!!!

Although in the bottle smelled amazing and pretty intense, when I started the candle making process, it smelled nothing, nothing at all. I’ve been making candles for such a long time and I don’t think I did something wrong. If anyone has the same experience please comment. The other two perfumes I ordered are perfectly fine, no complaint!

Great fragrance, sweet, sensual, warm and slightly floral. Ideal for CP soapmaking. Does not accelerate, gives a lot of time for swirling. Discolors to tan. No separation. No ricing. Scent after 8 days of curing medium-strong.

First batch of melts and they filled my kitchen with a lovely sweet floral-vanilla aroma!

I don’t like vanilla very much, but this is good

Such a delicate fragrance, it a soft vanilla with enveloping notes

While it smells very strong in the bottle, it’s not as intense once in candles. However, it works quite well for body care products.

Many people tell me they don’t like vanilla as a candle scent. But with this my candles sold out immediately. In comparison with the artificial vanilla you normally get from buying standard candles, this one is soft but intense. Used it in candles with 10%.

Ok

Din flacon nu simt mirosul. Concentrat se simte foarte vag, percep mai degraba ceva usor ambrat. Nu stiu care este motivul, voi testa si diluat.
Niels (verified owner) –
For me this is the real scent of vanilla, subtile but natural.

This is a lovely layered and sophisticated take on vanilla with a bit of luxurious. If you are looking for more of a baking feel, go for Madagascan Vanilla.
