Please note

This is not a perfume. It is a highly concentrated fragrance oil designed for crafting end products such as candles, diffusers, perfumes, soaps, and other personal care items. Do not apply directly to the skin. All our fragrance oils are measured in grams, not milliliters. Bottle fill levels may vary due to differences in oil density, which affects volume.

This material is supplied as a raw ingredient. Full compositional and allergen information is provided in the SDS and Allergen Declaration documents found in the “Related Documents” tab. Compliance of the final product remains the responsibility of the manufacturer.

Packaging note: 10g testers are supplied in PET bottles for affordable evaluation and are not intended for long-term archival storage. Production sizes from 50g upwards are supplied in premium aluminium bottles for improved long-term protection. Read more

Behavioral Profile

  • Diffusion: Moderate to strong diffusion with excellent warmth and persistence
  • Texture: Herbal, honeyed, smooth, and lightly powdery
  • Opening Impression: Fresh thyme and green herbal notes immediately softened by sweet floral warmth
  • Structure: Aromatic-herbal opening evolving into floral sweetness and a rich honey-tonka base
  • Character: Natural, comforting, elegant, and sunlit

Thyme and Honey Fragrance Oil is built around a surprisingly elegant contrast between aromatic thyme oil and the soft sweetness of coumarin, phenylacetaldehyde, and piperonal. Rather than presenting as a sharp herbal fragrance, the composition gradually reveals a smooth nectar-like warmth that blends naturally with the floral heart and gentle woody base. The result is a refined herbal gourmand with authentic thyme freshness, golden honey richness, and a soft comforting finish.

Discoloration Potential: Heavy

Thyme and Honey Fragrance Oil contains key discoloration-driving components such as Coumarin, piperonal, and phenylacetaldehyde, all known for ambering and browning over time. The presence of thyme essential oil (rich in phenolic compounds) further increases oxidation and darkening potential. The SDS also describes the product as pale yellow to yellow, indicating an already warm-toned base prone to deepening

  • Discoloration toward amber or brown is highly likely over time.
  • Strong fit for honeyed, herbal, gourmand, or rustic concepts where darkening enhances the aesthetic.
  • Not suitable for white, pastel, or transparent bases where color stability is important.

Application Compatibility

This fragrance is oil-soluble and designed for use in oil-based and alcohol-based formulations. It does not mix directly with water-based systems without the use of an appropriate solubilizer.

Storage

Store in a cool, dark, and airtight environment to preserve stability and minimize oxidation over time.

Usage & Performance

Fragrance performance varies depending on the base, formulation, and production conditions. Cold throw, hot throw, diffusion strength, and longevity are influenced by the materials used and the manufacturing process.

A typical development process involves:

  • Initial scent evaluation (10g sample)
  • Small batch testing (e.g. 50g scale)
  • Full-scale production once performance is validated

Testing under your specific conditions is standard practice in product development. Evaluation at each stage is required prior to scaling.

Recommended usage guidelines

  • Candles: 7%-12%
  • Reed diffusers: 15%-25%
  • Personal perfumes: 10%-15%
  • Soaps: 1%-3%

These ranges reflect typical formulation practices and are provided for general guidance only. They do not represent maximum permitted levels.
