Please note

This is a pure, undiluted essential oil designed for crafting end products such as candles, diffusers, soaps, bath products, and other personal care items. Essential oils are highly concentrated and should not be applied directly to the skin without proper dilution in a carrier oil. All our essential oils are measured in grams, not milliliters. Bottle fill levels may vary due to differences in oil density, which affects volume.

For specific usage limits, please refer to the Siberian Fir Essential Oil IFRA guidelines or consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) included in the “Related Documents” tab. Compliance of the final product remains the responsibility of the manufacturer.

Packaging note: 10g testers are supplied in PET bottles for affordable evaluation and are not intended for long-term archival storage. Production sizes from 50g upwards are supplied in premium aluminium bottles for improved long-term protection. Read more

Olfactive Profile

  • Note classification: Top to middle note
  • Scent family: Coniferous / Green / Woody / Resinous

Siberian Fir Essential Oil has a crisp, fresh, and resinous coniferous profile with green needle, pine-like, woody, balsamic, and slightly camphoraceous facets. It feels cleaner and brighter than cedarwood, greener than frankincense, and softer than sharp pine materials. Its character is natural, forest-like, and refreshing, making it especially useful in woodland, spa, winter, fresh-air, herbal, and aromatic compositions.

The opening is bright, green, and pine-needle-like, while the drydown becomes softer, woodier, and lightly resinous. Compared to heavier woody oils, Siberian fir brings more lift and freshness, making it valuable when a formula needs a natural evergreen opening, a clean forest impression, or a more outdoor aromatic structure.

Formulation & Creative Uses

Siberian Fir Essential Oil works as a fresh coniferous top-to-middle note. It adds green lift, forest freshness, resinous clarity, and a clean woody structure to a formula, helping citrus, herbal, woody, incense, amber, musky, or winter compositions feel more natural and outdoorsy. It is especially useful when a blend needs a fresh evergreen identity without becoming too heavy, smoky, or resin-dense.

Common applications

  • Diffusers: Excellent for forest, winter, fresh-air, spa-like, grounding, clean aromatic, and woodland-inspired blends.
  • Candles & wax melts: Adds natural evergreen freshness, especially in Christmas tree, forest cabin, pine woods, winter air, incense, and rustic home fragrance compositions.
  • Soaps: Brings a crisp coniferous character, with testing required for scent retention and process stability.
  • Bath & body products: Suitable when used within IFRA limits and proper dilution guidelines.
  • Perfumery: Useful in forest accords, aromatic woods, fresh fougere structures, incense blends, green colognes, resinous bases, and outdoor-inspired compositions.

Creative directions

Use Siberian Fir Essential Oil when a formula needs a clean forest lift, natural evergreen freshness, and a more open woodland atmosphere. It works especially well in blends that feel too warm, sweet, heavy, musky, ambered, or flat, helping the composition become fresher, greener, and more outdoorsy.

For winter and festive blends, combine Siberian fir with pine, cedarwood, orange, cinnamon, clove, frankincense, or soft balsamic materials to create a refined Christmas tree effect. For spa and fresh-air directions, use it with eucalyptus, rosemary, lavender, peppermint, lemon, or spearmint to build a crisp botanical atmosphere. For deeper forest compositions, pair it with patchouli, vetiver, oakmoss-style materials, incense, labdanum-style accords, or smoky woods to add shadow and depth beneath the bright green opening.

Siberian fir is also useful in clean home fragrance, mountain air blends, herbal forest accords, outdoor colognes, coniferous candles, and rustic woody compositions. Because it is fresh, terpenic, and recognisably evergreen, it can become sharp or too pine-like if overdosed. It performs best when balanced with woods, resins, citrus oils, musks, or softer herbal materials that give the forest character more depth and polish.

Storage & Natural Variations

Siberian Fir Essential Oil is classified as flammable, irritating to the skin, irritating to the eyes, sensitising, hazardous if swallowed and enters the airways, and toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Always follow the IFRA guidance and SDS for the intended product category. The final safety assessment, dilution level, labeling, and regulatory compliance remain the responsibility of the manufacturer.

Essential oils are natural aromatic materials, and slight variations in scent, colour, density, and appearance may occur from batch to batch. These differences are normal and can be influenced by harvest conditions, climate, origin, plant material, and natural compositional variation.

Scent perception may also vary depending on individual sensitivity, dilution level, formulation base, and application method. Essential oils may not smell exactly the same in the bottle as they do in a finished product. We strongly recommend testing a 10g bottle before committing to larger quantities, especially for commercial production.

To preserve quality, store tightly sealed in the original container, away from heat, light, air, and moisture. Coniferous essential oils are oxidation-sensitive, and prolonged exposure to air or improper storage may affect aroma, performance, and skin-sensitization potential over time. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, keep away from ignition sources, and avoid release into drains, surface water, or the environment.

Product Guidance & FAQs

How can I use this essential oil and at what concentration?

The appropriate concentration depends on the essential oil, intended application and complete finished formulation. Refer to the Product Suitability Guide and applicable technical documentation for the relevant limits, and always test at the intended concentration before production.

Does this essential oil contain allergens?

Essential oils are naturally complex mixtures and may contain naturally occurring fragrance allergens such as limonene, linalool, citral or geraniol, depending on the botanical material. Relevant constituents and hazard information are disclosed in the product documentation where applicable.

Are essential oils naturally variable?

Yes. As botanical materials, essential oils can show normal variations in colour, odour and constituent profile between batches, harvests and origins. Such variation does not necessarily indicate a difference in quality or authenticity.

Can I apply this essential oil directly to my skin?

Essential oils are concentrated aromatic raw materials and should not be assumed suitable for undiluted skin application. Any use in a finished cosmetic or personal-care formulation must take account of the specific oil, concentration, applicable restrictions and complete formulation.

Should I test the essential oil in my own formulation?

Yes. Solubility, stability, scent profile and performance can vary considerably between bases and applications. Small-scale testing in the actual formulation is recommended before production.
