Crackling Log Fire Fragrance Oil
Crackling Log Fire Fragrance Oil is a rich earthy ensemble of woody and smoky notes that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere to any place. Highly reminiscent of burning logs in a cozy fireplace from the first whiff, this luxurious fragrance starts off with a lively blend of leather, spruce and pine resins that gives out a hint of wet, almost mossy first impression. A balanced earthy heart of rose, nutmeg, cedar and charcoal acts as a grounding link for the upper and lower layers of the mixture. And finally, a most sophisticated signature accord of palo santo, incense, leathery musk and amber define the entire fragrance with its indisputable smoky character.
- Top notes: Spruce, pine, leather
- Heart notes: Nutmeg, cedarwood, rose, charcoal
- Base notes: Incense, musk, amber, palo santo
Scent Profile: Woody/Leathery/Musky
Please note
This is not a perfume. It is a highly concentrated fragrance oil designed for crafting end products such as candles, diffusers, perfumes, soaps, and other personal care items. Do not apply directly to the skin. All our fragrance oils are measured in grams, not milliliters. Bottle fill levels may vary due to differences in oil density, which affects volume.
This material is supplied as a raw ingredient. Full compositional and allergen information is provided in the SDS and Allergen Declaration documents found in the “Related Documents” tab. Compliance of the final product remains the responsibility of the manufacturer.
Behavioral Profile
- Diffusion: Medium–high, dense and atmospheric
- Texture: Smoky woods with resinous leathery warmth
- Opening Impression: Burning pine resin, wet cedar, and cold fireplace smoke
- Structure: Sharp coniferous opening descending into dark incense woods
- Character: Sophisticated, rugged and intensely atmospheric
Crackling Log Fire Fragrance Oil recreates the atmosphere of a real burning fireplace through a highly textured woody-smoky structure rich in coniferous terpenes, leathery musks, incense materials, and dry woods. Pine resin, spruce, charcoal, cedar, and palo santo notes dominate the composition, while smoky ambers, Cedryl Ketone, and dark musks create the sensation of glowing embers and warm burnt wood lingering in the air. Despite its intensity, floral traces and soft woody musks prevent the fragrance from becoming harsh or overly ashy. The result is a deeply atmospheric smoky woody fragrance with exceptional realism, elegant warmth, and a distinctly luxurious fireside character.

Discoloration Potential: Light
Although the formula is mostly based on stable carriers, the presence of terpenes and terpenoid alcohols suggests a small but real risk of visible yellowing with long-term exposure to light, air, or heat.
- Over time, particularly if poorly stored, minor yellowing may appear.
- Candles and diffuser oils should remain largely stable but could show faint deepening in color over many months.
- Cold process soaps may exaggerate yellowing slightly due to pH-induced reactions.
Application Compatibility
This fragrance is oil-soluble and designed for use in oil-based and alcohol-based formulations. It does not mix directly with water-based systems without the use of an appropriate solubilizer.
Storage
Store in a cool, dark, and airtight environment to preserve stability and minimize oxidation over time.
Usage & Performance
Fragrance performance varies depending on the base, formulation, and production conditions. Cold throw, hot throw, diffusion strength, and longevity are influenced by the materials used and the manufacturing process.
A typical development process involves:
- Initial scent evaluation (10g sample)
- Small batch testing (e.g. 50g scale)
- Full-scale production once performance is validated
Testing under your specific conditions is standard practice in product development. Evaluation at each stage is required prior to scaling.
Recommended usage guidelines
- Candles: 7%-12%
- Reed diffusers: 15%-25%
- Personal perfumes: 10%-15%
- Soaps: 1%-3%
These ranges reflect typical formulation practices and are provided for general guidance only. They do not represent maximum permitted levels.

this one just hits the whole thing so first of all it really gives you a feeling like you are sitting somewhere in the woods near a fireplace; the combination of spruce and pine resins with leather and charcoal creates the whole scenery, marvellous. Can also be perfectly combined with other fragrances to create great scents!

Fresher than i expected. It is smoky and woody, like camping in the fields.

Didn’t accelerate trace in CP soap, mild yellow discoloration. Scent does have some smokiness to it but much fresher than I anticipated. Doesn’t smell like a burning log fire to me but more like a fire pit put out by the rain in a pine forest. Scent retention is great in CP soap with a medium scent intensity at 6% of oil weight.

My all time favourite! This smell is so nostalgic, cozy, when you smell it you just want more and more. This scent stays in your head and you just wanna come back for more. Best for candle making, smells amazing with soy wax. Makes great ambience .

It’s a little ‘fresh/clean’ smelling and unexpected for this scent, however it does deliver 😉

Warm and cozy wood scent. Love it

Most of the reviews said it was surprisingly fresh, so i actually got surprised by how deep and leathery it is. Smells like pine and leather in the opening. Not as smoky as expected though.

A very cozy scent. I expected it to be a bit more smoky, but it’s still very good.
