Please note

This is a pure, undiluted essential oil designed for crafting end products such as candles, diffusers, soaps, bath products, and other personal care items. Essential oils are highly concentrated and should not be applied directly to the skin without proper dilution in a carrier oil. All our essential oils are measured in grams, not milliliters. Bottle fill levels may vary due to differences in oil density, which affects volume.

For specific usage limits, please refer to the Lavender Essential Oil IFRA guidelines or consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) included in the “Related Documents” tab. Compliance of the final product remains the responsibility of the manufacturer.

Olfactive Profile

  • Note classification: Middle note
  • Scent family: Floral / Herbal / Aromatic / Fougere

Lavender Essential Oil has a soft floral-herbal profile with sweet, clean, aromatic, and lightly camphoraceous facets. It feels more floral and rounded than rosemary, softer and more comforting than eucalyptus, and more aromatic than most delicate floral oils. Its character is classic, calming, and instantly recognisable, making it especially useful in spa, wellness, fougere, herbal, floral, and clean aromatic compositions.

The opening is fresh, floral, and herbal, while the drydown becomes smoother, softer, and gently woody. Compared to sharper aromatic oils, lavender brings more balance and emotional softness, making it valuable when a formula needs calmness, natural elegance, and a familiar botanical heart.

Formulation & Creative Uses

Lavender Essential Oil works as a soft floral-aromatic heart note. It adds calmness, freshness, herbal elegance, and gentle floral diffusion to a formula, helping sharper citrus oils, cool herbs, woods, resins, musks, and vanilla-like materials feel more balanced and connected. It is especially useful when a blend needs a familiar natural softness without becoming too sweet, powdery, or heavy.

Common applications

  • Diffusers: Excellent for calming, spa-like, bedtime, herbal, floral, meditative, and clean aromatic blends.
  • Candles & wax melts: Adds soft herbal-floral freshness, especially in relaxation, spa, linen, fougere, botanical, and cozy home fragrance compositions.
  • Soaps: Brings a classic clean lavender character, with testing required for scent retention and process stability.
  • Bath & body products: Suitable when used within IFRA limits and proper dilution guidelines.
  • Perfumery: Useful in fougere accords, aromatic florals, clean musks, lavender-vanilla blends, herbal colognes, soft woods, and natural wellness perfumes.

Creative directions

Use Lavender Essential Oil when a formula needs calmness, softness, and a clean floral-herbal heart. It works especially well in blends that feel too sharp, medicinal, dry, citrusy, woody, or emotionally cold, helping the composition become more rounded, familiar, and comforting.

For spa and relaxation blends, combine lavender with bergamot, cedarwood, frankincense, amyris, eucalyptus, or clary sage to create a calm and polished atmosphere. For soft floral directions, use it with geranium, rose, ylang ylang, neroli, or palmarosa to give the formula a more natural botanical heart. For cozy and comforting blends, pair it with vanilla-like materials, benzoin, tonka-style notes, soft woods, or gentle musks.

Lavender is also useful in fougere, linen, herbal tea, bedtime, clean floral, and soft aromatic compositions. Because it is familiar and highly recognisable, it can make a formula feel too traditional or medicinal if overdosed. It performs best when balanced with citrus oils, woods, soft resins, musks, or gentle sweet materials that frame its floral-herbal character with more depth and refinement.

Storage & Natural Variations

Lavender Essential Oil is classified as irritating to the skin, irritating to the eyes, sensitising, hazardous if swallowed and enters the airways, and harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Always follow the IFRA guidance and SDS for the intended product category. The final safety assessment, dilution level, labeling, and regulatory compliance remain the responsibility of the manufacturer.

Essential oils are natural aromatic materials, and slight variations in scent, colour, density, and appearance may occur from batch to batch. These differences are normal and can be influenced by harvest conditions, climate, origin, plant material, and natural compositional variation.

Scent perception may also vary depending on individual sensitivity, dilution level, formulation base, and application method. Essential oils may not smell exactly the same in the bottle as they do in a finished product. We strongly recommend testing a 10g bottle before committing to larger quantities, especially for commercial production.

To preserve quality, store tightly sealed in the original container, away from heat, light, air, and moisture. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place and avoid release into drains, surface water, or the environment.

This is a good quality lavender EO for a reasonable price. Lavender is one of those raw materials where different variables play a big role in the scent and its quality. This lavender EO doesn’t have any major “off” notes. It is smooth, pleasant, characteristic and lasts over 8h on a blotter.

  2. steass101 (verified owner)

    A very gentle lavender scent.

  3. marianiorga67 (verified owner)

Minunat! Mirosul autentic al lavandei, curat, fin, delicat. Am uleiuri de lavanda si din alte surse, nu asa de bune.

  4. dimon97 (verified owner)

This was amazing — it felt like stepping into the garden at the end of summer and crushing a dry, faded plant in your hand.

  5. bloomshinestudio (verified owner)

This fragrance is a timeless classic! So fresh, clean, and most importantly, natural. Always highly requested by my customers.

Product Guidance & FAQs

How can I use this essential oil and at what concentration?

The appropriate concentration depends on the essential oil, intended application and complete finished formulation. Refer to the Product Suitability Guide and applicable technical documentation for the relevant limits, and always test at the intended concentration before production.

Does this essential oil contain allergens?

Essential oils are naturally complex mixtures and may contain naturally occurring fragrance allergens such as limonene, linalool, citral or geraniol, depending on the botanical material. Relevant constituents and hazard information are disclosed in the product documentation where applicable.

Are essential oils naturally variable?

Yes. As botanical materials, essential oils can show normal variations in colour, odour and constituent profile between batches, harvests and origins. Such variation does not necessarily indicate a difference in quality or authenticity.

Can I apply this essential oil directly to my skin?

Essential oils are concentrated aromatic raw materials and should not be assumed suitable for undiluted skin application. Any use in a finished cosmetic or personal-care formulation must take account of the specific oil, concentration, applicable restrictions and complete formulation.

Should I test the essential oil in my own formulation?

Yes. Solubility, stability, scent profile and performance can vary considerably between bases and applications. Small-scale testing in the actual formulation is recommended before production.
