Please note
This is not a perfume. It is a highly concentrated fragrance oil designed for crafting end products such as candles, diffusers, perfumes, soaps, and other personal care items. Do not apply directly to the skin. All our fragrance oils are measured in grams, not milliliters. Bottle fill levels may vary due to differences in oil density, which affects volume.
This material is supplied as a raw ingredient. Full compositional and allergen information is provided in the SDS and Allergen Declaration documents found in the “Related Documents” tab. Compliance of the final product remains the responsibility of the manufacturer.
Behavioral Profile
- Diffusion: Medium–high, airy and expansive
- Texture: Light, slightly waxy-aldehydic with a smooth floral body
- Opening Impression: Fresh, green-aldehydic with a bright, lifted character
- Structure: Carrier-supported with a defined floral core and diffusive backbone
- Character: Ethereal, refined, and slightly vintage-leaning with a soft, continuous trail
Japonica Fragrance Oil is a carrier-supported aldehydic floral composition built around a classic aromatic structure that emphasizes clarity and diffusion. The opening is driven by fresh and slightly waxy aldehydic materials, creating a bright and lifted impression, while the floral core is constructed through traditional components that provide body and continuity. A soft woody-musky backbone enhances diffusion and ensures a smooth evolution, while subtle balsamic nuances introduce warmth. The result is an elegant and refined fragrance with an airy floral character and a balanced, long-lasting presence.

Discoloration potential: None
Japonica Fragrance Oil contains a strong majority of very stable ingredients with only trace instability; any discoloration would be extremely slow and minor, if it happens at all.
- Colorless to faint yellowing over very long periods could occur if exposed to bad storage (light, air, high heat).
- In candles, diffusers, and soaps, this fragrance will retain its visual clarity excellently.
- Proper storage (cool, dry, sealed, dark) can practically maintain a colorless appearance for a very long time.
Application Compatibility
This fragrance is oil-soluble and designed for use in oil-based and alcohol-based formulations. It does not mix directly with water-based systems without the use of an appropriate solubilizer.
Storage
Store in a cool, dark, and airtight environment to preserve stability and minimize oxidation over time.
Usage & Performance
Fragrance performance varies depending on the base, formulation, and production conditions. Cold throw, hot throw, diffusion strength, and longevity are influenced by the materials used and the manufacturing process.
A typical development process involves:
- Initial scent evaluation (10g sample)
- Small batch testing (e.g. 50g scale)
- Full-scale production once performance is validated
Testing under your specific conditions is standard practice in product development. Evaluation at each stage is required prior to scaling.
Recommended usage guidelines
- Candles: 7%-12%
- Reed diffusers: 15%-25%
- Personal perfumes: 10%-15%
- Soaps: 1%-3%
These ranges reflect typical formulation practices and are provided for general guidance only. They do not represent maximum permitted levels.

The oil itself has a pungent odor that can be repulsive, but in the candle smells great.

A friend of mine said it reminds her of washing powder for clothes. It is a perfect combination of flower-y and fresh notes. Used it in candles.
