Please note
This is not a perfume. It is a highly concentrated fragrance oil designed for crafting end products such as candles, diffusers, perfumes, soaps, and other personal care items. Do not apply directly to the skin. All our fragrance oils are measured in grams, not milliliters. Bottle fill levels may vary due to differences in oil density, which affects volume.
This material is supplied as a raw ingredient. Full compositional and allergen information is provided in the SDS and Allergen Declaration documents found in the “Related Documents” tab. Compliance of the final product remains the responsibility of the manufacturer.
Packaging note: 10g testers are supplied in PET bottles for affordable evaluation and are not intended for long-term archival storage. Production sizes from 50g upwards are supplied in premium aluminium bottles for improved long-term protection. Read more
Behavioral Profile
- Diffusion: Medium–high, dense and mouthwatering
- Texture: Sticky caramel sweetness with creamy buttery softness
- Opening Impression: Warm cookie dough, lemon zest, and melted brown sugar
- Structure: Rich caramel opening settling into smooth vanilla creaminess
- Character: Cozy, indulgent and irresistibly edible
Salted Caramel Fragrance Oil focuses entirely on rich confectionery realism through a dense gourmand structure dominated by Ethyl Vanillin, Ethyl Maltol, Gamma-Undecalactone, and Methylcyclopentenolone. Cookie dough, caramel, butterscotch, cream, vanilla, and warm brown sugar accords melt together into a thick pastry-like body with almost no volatile freshness beyond a subtle lemon-zest lift at the opening. The complete absence of VOC content gives the fragrance exceptional density and creamy persistence, making it feel rich, buttery, and highly atmospheric in wax applications. The result is a decadent caramel gourmand with velvety warmth, smooth bakery diffusion, and a distinctly dessert-shop character.

Discoloration potential: Heavy
High levels of caramelic, aldehydic, and vanillin compounds in Salted Caramel Fragrance Oil ensure strong and progressive darkening, especially in white or clear bases.
- Expect significant yellowing or browning, particularly in soap, wax, and transparent cosmetic products.
- Ideal for bakery-themed or warm-toned formulas where discoloration blends into the product’s aesthetic.
- Not recommended for use in bright white or pastel applications unless color shift is acceptable or masked.
Application Compatibility
This fragrance is oil-soluble and designed for use in oil-based and alcohol-based formulations. It does not mix directly with water-based systems without the use of an appropriate solubilizer.
Storage
Store cool and sealed, but note that discoloration is chemically inevitable due to the formula’s profile.
Usage & Performance
Fragrance performance varies depending on the base, formulation, and production conditions. Cold throw, hot throw, diffusion strength, and longevity are influenced by the materials used and the manufacturing process.
A typical development process involves:
- Initial scent evaluation (10g sample)
- Small batch testing (e.g. 50g scale)
- Full-scale production once performance is validated
Testing under your specific conditions is standard practice in product development. Evaluation at each stage is required prior to scaling.
Recommended usage guidelines
- Candles: 7%-12%
- Reed diffusers: 15%-25%
- Personal perfumes: 10%-15%
- Soaps: 1%-3%
These ranges reflect typical formulation practices and are provided for general guidance only. They do not represent maximum permitted levels.

It’s nice, the caramel nor the salt or prominent. The butterscotch is the first note you smell.

The salt is the first thing I smell and I really don’t know how that’s possible. I LOVE this fragrance.
