Helional Aroma Molecule

Helional is a distinctive material because it combines floral transparency with a watery marine effect. It does not smell like a heavy white floral or a simple aquatic note. Instead, it gives the impression of fresh muguet, clean sea air, watery petals, and soft aldehydic brightness. Its effect is beautiful but strong, and because it is IFRA-restricted and classified as Repr. 2 in the supplied cosmetics declaration, it should be used carefully and calculated precisely.

  • Main impression: Watery floral freshness
  • Supporting facets: Muguet, marine air, aldehydic clean, soft powder
  • Drydown character: Fresh, airy, transparent, floral-aquatic
  • Used for: Marine accords, muguet effects, watery florals, fresh diffusion, clean floral lift

Please note

This is a single aroma molecule / raw perfumery material, not a finished perfume or fragrance oil. It is intended for formulation work and must not be applied directly to the skin undiluted. Aroma molecules are powerful materials that may behave differently depending on dosage, solvent system, wax, diffuser base, cosmetic base, temperature, and the full composition. Always test in your intended application before production.

Full safety, allergen, IFRA, and technical information is provided in the SDS, IFRA Certificate, and Allergen Declaration available in the “Related Documents” tab. Compliance and documentation of the final product remains the responsibility of the manufacturer.

Olfactive Profile

  • Primary character: Watery floral-marine with a muguet-like freshness.
  • Secondary nuances: Aldehydic clean air, lily-of-the-valley, soft powder, ozonic freshness, and watery green floralcy.
  • Texture: Airy, clean, transparent, and diffusive rather than creamy, sweet, or heavy.
  • Diffusion: Strong for a fresh floral material, especially in aquatic and clean compositions.
  • Tenacity: Moderate to long-lasting, with good presence in the heart and fresh drydown.
  • Comparison anchor: More marine than Hedione MDJ, more floral than Floralozone, and cleaner than natural floral absolutes.

Helional Aroma Molecule smells like watery white petals carried by clean marine air. It has a soft lily-of-the-valley direction, but with a more modern aquatic and aldehydic brightness. It can make a formula feel fresh, open, and luminous, especially when used in small amounts. Overdosed, it can become very recognisable, sharp, or overly marine-floral.

Formulation & Creative Uses

What It Adds to Your Formula

  • Marine freshness: Adds a watery, airy, clean aquatic effect.
  • Floral lift: Supports muguet, jasmine, white floral, and fresh floral structures.
  • Transparency: Makes florals feel cleaner, lighter, and more spacious.
  • Modernity: Gives compositions a polished aquatic or fresh unisex profile.
  • Diffusion: Helps fresh floral and marine accords radiate more clearly.
  • Clean character: Supports soap, shampoo, spa, linen, and fresh cosmetic directions.

What It Does Not Do

  • It does not create a full aquatic accord alone: It needs support from musks, ozonic materials, citrus, woods, or watery florals.
  • It does not replace muguet reconstruction: It gives a watery muguet facet, not a complete lily-of-the-valley accord.
  • It does not add warmth or sweetness: It is fresh, watery, and clean rather than creamy or gourmand.
  • It is not a casual high-dose material: IFRA limits and regulatory classification must be checked carefully.

Creative Uses

Helional is excellent for aquatic florals, marine accords, muguet blends, fresh musks, ozonic compositions, clean shampoos, spa-style fragrances, and modern fresh unisex perfumes. It can lift jasmine and white florals, add watery brightness to citrus-musks, and make clean home fragrance profiles feel more airy and expensive. In small amounts, it is also useful for giving floral blends a subtle modern freshness without turning them fully aquatic.

Creative Inspiration

Use Helional Aroma Molecule with Hedione MDJ and Floralozone for a transparent watery floral accord. Pair it with Galaxolide 50 DPG for a clean laundry-marine musk effect. Combine it with Bergamot Essential Oil and Petitgrain Essential Oil for a bright citrus-floral aquatic opening. Use it with Iso E Super or Ambroxan to build a modern fresh woody-marine drydown.

Common Applications

  • Fine fragrance: Useful in aquatic florals, muguet, fresh musks, ozonic florals, marine woods, and clean unisex compositions.
  • Candles & wax melts: Suitable where the final formula allows; especially useful for sea breeze, spa, clean air, watery floral, and fresh linen profiles.
  • Reed diffusers: Adds watery floral freshness and marine lift, subject to IFRA limits and base compatibility.
  • Room sprays: Useful for fresh marine, spa, linen, bathroom, clean floral, and aquatic home fragrance profiles.
  • Soaps & rinse-off products: Can support shampoo, soap, muguet, fresh floral, and clean aquatic profiles within the relevant IFRA limits.
  • Cosmetic fragrance bases: Suitable only where permitted by IFRA and final product safety assessment.

Usage, Dose & Performance

  • Suggested starting dose: 0.05–0.5% of the fragrance concentrate for early trials.
  • Trace use: Adds subtle watery lift and clean floral airiness.
  • Moderate use: Creates a clear marine-floral or muguet-aquatic effect.
  • High use: Can quickly become dominant, sharp, and recognisably Helional-like.
  • Diffusion: Strong and airy, especially in fresh floral and aquatic structures.
  • Tenacity: Moderate to long-lasting for a fresh floral material.
  • Blending behavior: Works well with florals, marine materials, musks, citrus, ozonic notes, green notes, light woods, and aldehydic structures.
  • Overdose risk: Can make a formula feel too watery, synthetic, sharp, or detergent-like if not balanced with musk, woods, floral body, or softening materials.

Stability & Handling

Helional Aroma Molecule should be stored tightly sealed in its original container, in a cool and well-ventilated place, away from heat, prolonged air exposure, and direct light. It is supplied as a liquid, so no pre-warming or pre-dilution is normally required before use. Its discoloration potential is considered low to moderate: the material is colourless, but aldehydic materials may shift in odour or colour with heat, oxidation, and long storage. Testing is recommended in white waxes, pale soaps, clear bases, and pastel formulations, especially at higher dosage or after heat exposure.

Safety & Testing

Helional is a raw fragrance material for formulation use. It is not a finished perfume and must not be applied directly to the skin undiluted.

Always review the SDS, IFRA Certificate, Cosmetics Declaration, and Technical Data Sheet before use. This material is IFRA-restricted and classified as Repr. 2 in the supplied cosmetics declaration, so final dosage and application suitability must be checked carefully before production. Test the material in the intended base, as performance may vary depending on dosage, solvent system, wax type, diffuser base, surfactant system, pH, processing temperature, and packaging.

Final product safety, labelling, IFRA compliance, CLP classification, allergen declaration, cosmetic assessment, and market compliance remain the responsibility of the final product manufacturer.
