Sandalore Aroma Molecule

Sandalore is a useful modern sandalwood material for formulas that need soft woodiness without the density of heavier sandalwood substitutes. Its character is creamy, sweet, smooth, and lightly woody, with a sandalwood direction that works especially well in clean florals, musks, soft woods, and cosmetic-style compositions. It does not create a full natural sandalwood oil profile by itself, but it gives a pleasant sandalwood-like backbone that is easy to blend. Because it is IFRA-restricted in several applications, dosage should always be checked carefully.

  • Main impression: Soft creamy sandalwood
  • Supporting facets: Sweet wood, clean musk, pale cream, light floral
  • Drydown character: Smooth, warm, soft, woody
  • Used for: Sandalwood effects, creamy wood, softness, floral-musky bases, cosmetic warmth

Please note

This is a single aroma molecule / raw perfumery material, not a finished perfume or fragrance oil. It is intended for formulation work and must not be applied directly to the skin undiluted. Aroma molecules are powerful materials that may behave differently depending on dosage, solvent system, wax, diffuser base, cosmetic base, temperature, and the full composition. Always test in your intended application before production.

Full safety, allergen, IFRA, and technical information is provided in the SDS, IFRA Certificate, and Allergen Declaration available in the “Related Documents” tab. Compliance and documentation of the final product remains the responsibility of the manufacturer.

Olfactive Profile

  • Primary character: Soft creamy sandalwood with a smooth woody sweetness.
  • Secondary nuances: Pale woods, clean musk, light floral warmth, subtle creaminess, and soft cosmetic wood.
  • Texture: Smooth, creamy, gentle, and rounded rather than dry, smoky, or sharp.
  • Diffusion: Moderate, with a soft woody presence in the heart and drydown.
  • Tenacity: Moderate to long-lasting, especially in musky, woody, floral, and amber compositions.
  • Comparison anchor: Softer and lighter than many intense sandalwood molecules, creamier than Iso E Super, and less dry-mineral than Ambroxan.

Sandalore Aroma Molecule smells like a clean, soft sandalwood impression with gentle sweetness and creamy woody warmth. It does not have the full richness, milky depth, or natural complexity of sandalwood essential oil. Instead, it gives a modern, smooth sandalwood effect that blends easily into florals, musks, ambers, and cosmetic-style bases. Its strength is softness and wearability.

Formulation & Creative Uses

What It Adds to Your Formula

  • Sandalwood effect: Adds a soft creamy sandalwood direction.
  • Woody softness: Smooths florals, musks, ambers, and clean compositions.
  • Creaminess: Gives gentle roundness without obvious gourmand sweetness.
  • Modern base support: Helps create soft woody drydowns for feminine, masculine, and unisex formulas.
  • Cosmetic warmth: Works well in lotion, skincare, soap, and clean-musky profiles.
  • Blend cohesion: Connects floral hearts with woody and musky bases.

What It Does Not Do

  • It does not replace natural sandalwood: It gives a sandalwood-like effect, not the full complexity of natural sandalwood oil.
  • It does not add strong projection: It is soft and supportive rather than explosive.
  • It does not create dryness: It is creamy and smooth rather than cedar-dry or mineral.
  • It is not unrestricted: IFRA limits must be checked carefully, especially in fine fragrance and cosmetic applications.

Creative Uses

Sandalore is excellent for soft sandalwood accords, white musks, creamy florals, clean ambers, cosmetic-style fragrances, powdery woods, and gentle woody bases. It can soften jasmine, rose, muguet, ylang ylang, violet, and orange blossom, while adding warmth to clean musks and amber structures. In home fragrance, it works well in spa, hotel, soft woods, sandalwood, clean musk, powder, and calm luxury profiles

Creative Inspiration

Use Sandalore Aroma Molecule with Ethylene Brassylate for a soft creamy wood-musk drydown. Pair it with Hedione MDJ and Benzyl Salicylate for smooth floral-sandalwood body. Combine it with Iso E Super for a more modern transparent woody structure. Use it with Ambroxan or Cedramber when a softer sandalwood layer is needed beneath dry amber woods.

Common Applications

  • Fine fragrance: Useful in sandalwood accords, musks, soft woods, creamy florals, ambers, and cosmetic-style perfumes.
  • Candles & wax melts: Suitable where the final formula allows; especially useful for sandalwood, spa, hotel, clean musk, soft amber, and creamy woody profiles.
  • Reed diffusers: Adds soft woody warmth and sandalwood body, subject to IFRA limits and base compatibility.
  • Room sprays: Useful for soft woods, spa, clean musk, sandalwood, and calm luxury home fragrance profiles.
  • Soaps & rinse-off products: Can support creamy woody, floral, musky, and cosmetic-style profiles within the relevant IFRA limits.
  • Cosmetic fragrance bases: Suitable only where permitted by IFRA and final product safety assessment.

Usage, Dose & Performance

  • Suggested starting dose: 0.1–1% of the fragrance concentrate for early trials.
  • Trace use: Adds subtle creamy warmth and woody smoothness.
  • Moderate use: Creates a clear soft sandalwood effect.
  • High use: Can become dominant, heavy, or overly soft, and may exceed IFRA limits quickly.
  • Diffusion: Moderate, smooth, and rounded.
  • Tenacity: Moderate to long-lasting, especially in musk, floral, amber, and woody bases.
  • Blending behavior: Works well with musks, florals, ambers, soft woods, creamy notes, powdery materials, and light oriental structures.
  • Overdose risk: Can make a formula feel too creamy, muted, oily, or sandalwood-heavy if not balanced with freshness, dryness, or lift.

Stability & Handling

Sandalore should be stored tightly sealed, preferably under nitrogen, in a cool and dry place away from prolonged exposure to light and air. It is supplied as a colourless to pale yellow liquid, so no pre-warming or pre-dilution is normally required before use. The SDS notes that the material is stable under normal conditions when stored correctly, but it should be protected from heat and oxidation. Its discoloration potential is considered low: the material is pale and not known as a strong discoloring ingredient, though slight warmth may appear in very pale bases at higher dosage or after heat exposure. Testing is recommended in white waxes, clear bases, pale soaps, and pastel formulations.

Safety & Testing

Sandalore Aroma Molecule is a raw fragrance material for formulation use. It is not a finished perfume and must not be applied directly to the skin undiluted.

Always review the SDS, IFRA Certificate, Cosmetics Declaration, and Technical Data Sheet before use. This material is IFRA-restricted in several common applications, so final dosage and application suitability must be checked carefully before production. Test the material in the intended base, as performance may vary depending on dosage, solvent system, wax type, diffuser base, surfactant system, pH, processing temperature, and packaging.

Final product safety, labelling, IFRA compliance, CLP classification, allergen declaration, cosmetic assessment, and market compliance remain the responsibility of the final product manufacturer.
